Aate Jaate - Maine Pyar Kiya

As we are fast approaching Valentine's Day (Kadhalargal Dhinam) I was thinking of doing something special, but before I could get there, I stumbled upon this track in Smule and thought of giving you a teaser before we get to the special item.

Back at my youthful days this was such a super hit SPB number which sort of became the anthem for all love birds including myself. Though this song from Maine Pyar Kiya was wasted as a title song, it became a forceful hit due to SPB's soulful delivery.

I loved singing it, hope you like it as well.

Naan Pogiren Mele Mele

After a hiatus period of almost 1 year, I am back posting in this blog. It has been crazy busy at my end with very little time to pursue my karaoke blog passion. In the meantime, I found this new tool called "Smule" which is a very interesting & novel way of bringing global talent to global audience. It is something like Social Karaoke blogging. Very refreshing to notice that some wonderful talent out there is getting a global platform to showcase their singing skills.

While I operate under the pseudo name "Usindians" in Smule, I make some karaoke there on a selective basis. One of the singers (Ramya Duraiswamy) I admire in Smule had put out this number "Naan Pogiren Mele Mele" from the film Naanayam, composed by James Vasanthan. A feel good song with a lot of resemblence to another AR Rehman's number Poovukul Olindhirukum from the film Jean.

Regardless, this song originally sung by Chitra & SPB is a simple melodious song. Hope you enjoy this song and record here your constructive comments.

O Butterfly Butterfly...

This next song is a wonderful, melodies number composed by Ilayaraja for the movie Meera. Very waltzy number. This ever green song was a super hit number at the time this was released. I really loved it and enjoyed singing as well.

Originally sung by SPB and Lata Mangeshkar, I have sung this as a solo.

Thoda Thoda Malarndhadhena

I definitely realize my karaoke blogs have become far from few. Past few months have been extremely busy both professionally and personally, haven't had a chance to attend to this pet project. But that said, recently sat with my friend Thulsi (an accomplished keyboardist) and we came up with this cover remix. We really set out on a different agenda but ended up with this brief recording in his studio. Hope you like this.

Originally sung by SPB and composed by AR Rehman

Innum Konja Neram

Lately, it has been extremely busy with so many changes on both professional and personal front. Lots of travel, work schedule, selling my current home and hunting for a new one etc. etc. Absolutely couldn't find time to record a song. That said, my inspiration came recently from my wife's travel to India on a business trip and recorded this song from the film Maariyan. Now don't get any ideas. Its not the hurray moment "Pondaati Orukku poitta", listen to the song and you'll understand. Couldn't get a good karaoke track to record the full song, but found time to sing to my wife, though in vain.

Here we go, hope you like this wonderful melody by Swetha Mohan & Vijay Prakash composed by AR Rehman
