Anandha Dhagam

As I was sifting through songs in Smule yesterday late evening, I stumbled upon this rare gem. A product of Shyam (Music Director) & Vairamuthu from the film Vaa Indha Pakkam.

This forgotten 1983 movie had some interesting and melodious and songs. Originally sung by Deepan Chakravarthy & S.Janaki in Tamil, I believe this song might have been produced in Kannada as well. The theme of the song depicts the feelings of a newly married couple living in a joint family. The lyrics are brilliant wherein the struggles of the heroine including her shyness to mingle with her husband while living in a joint family situation is just apt for that generation and time.

I saw this song in Smule and was originally posted by Ramya Duraiswamy, felt it was a good track to add my voice to it. I enjoyed singing and hope you like it as well.

Aate Jaate - Maine Pyar Kiya

As we are fast approaching Valentine's Day (Kadhalargal Dhinam) I was thinking of doing something special, but before I could get there, I stumbled upon this track in Smule and thought of giving you a teaser before we get to the special item.

Back at my youthful days this was such a super hit SPB number which sort of became the anthem for all love birds including myself. Though this song from Maine Pyar Kiya was wasted as a title song, it became a forceful hit due to SPB's soulful delivery.
